Reliant Building Solutions routinely works in hospitals and understands the complexities of working in these critical facilities. Having successfully performed steel installations, carbon fiber strengthening, slab stabilizations, parking garage repairs and slab infills, we know how to complete projects while minimizing intrusions into healthcare operations.
Challenging Structural Steel Installation An Atlanta hospital replaced an MRI machine, increasing the load on the floor. The project engineer called for six structural steel beams that were 26 feet long to be installed beneath the floor. The location for the beam installation was above the nurse’s station outside the only entrance to the hospital’s six operating rooms. The installation was further complicated by the presence data cables, chilled water lines, electrical lines and HVAC ducts that served other areas of the hospital and could not be disconnected or relocated. No Job is Too Tough Reliant Building Solutions worked closely with the general contractor to schedule the work at those few times when the operating rooms and the nurse’s station were not open. Steel beam sections were cut to lengths that would allow us to thread them through the obstructions and then bolt them together once in place. Additionally, our in-house engineer drew a beam splice connection for the engineer to approve.
